No Meal is available for homestay students aged over 18 who prefer to arrange and prepare their own food. You will still enjoy your own room with a friendly local host family, along with all the other benefits of homestay living – a safe and comfortable environment, ongoing support from our Homestay Team, and the flexibility to manage your own meals and schedule.
Every Homestay family has been interviewed and their home inspected by one of our team members. You can also choose our Airport Transfer Service and our friendly staff will take you right to the front door and introduce you to your Australian Family.

Staying with an Aussie family is the best way to learn about the community that you will be joining so that you can go out and discover life here with confidence.
We have an on-campus Homestay Department to assist students with settling into their ‘home’ in Australia. With hundreds of homestay families hosting Shafston students, we are able to meet just about any request, and help you if any problems may arise. All our families have been inspected and interviewed by our Homestay team prior to becoming a Shafston Homestay family. And every adult member of the household must hold a Queensland Government issued Blue Card showing that they meet Government standards for suitability to live with students and children.

- Twin room prices are per student and two students must book together.
- The application fee is charged once per student and is non-refundable.
- Separate room: only available for twin.
- Special dietary requirements include vegan, Halal, vegetarian, gluten-free, kosher meal, etc.
- All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are charged per student, per week.
- The Extra Care long-stay rate applies to bookings of 4 weeks or more.
