Alumni Highlights
“Shafston has always been a special place to me. Since I arrived in Australia in 2017, Shafston has played a fundamental role in my personal and career development. I am currently a PhD researcher and a sessional academic in the School of Design at QUT, and I know that would not have been possible without my experience at Shafston.”
“At Shafston, I gained practical skills and confidence through hands-on learning and great trainers. My internship helped me get a casual role at a local café, and now I’m learning more every day while working in real hospitality settings.”
“I studied at Shaftson in Brisbane on 3 different occasions. 2007/08, 2012/13 and 2017. were certainly moments and lessons that I carry with me for the rest of my life. the Campus is lovely and the city is wonderful. I maintain friendships with old classmates. All the knowledge I gained at Shafston opened the doors for me to work in multinationals and projects overseas..”
“When I started, I was nervous about using English in a real job. Shafston helped me improve quickly, and my internship at a small IT company gave me the confidence to solve problems, speak up in meetings, and work with real clients.”
“I always dreamed of working with children, and Shafston helped me get there. The trainers were patient and helpful, and after my placement, I was offered a part-time role at a nearby childcare centre. It’s a small team, but it feels like family.”
“My internship was with a small events team that handled community and sustainability-focused projects. I learned how to prepare proposals, coordinate suppliers, and even helped run a local beach clean-up event. It was such a meaningful experience.”
“My English improved a lot during the IELTS program, and the internship gave me real tasks to work on—from guest lists to venue setup. It wasn’t a big agency, but they trusted me and taught me so much about the industry.”
“The Cambridge class was intense but effective. After passing the C1 exam, I started working for a boutique marketing agency where I help schedule content and manage client accounts in English—it’s small, but a great start!”
