HOMESTAY FAMILIES

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

You must provide a private furnished room containing:

  • bed
  • desk
  • chair

  • lamp
  • sufficient airflow
  • natural lighting

Some meals are to be provided, depending on the Homestay program the student has selected. You also should be prepared to welcome the student into your family and be able to spend time talking with your student so they can practice their English and get the most out of their homestay experience in Australia.

HOW TO BECOME A HOMESTAY FAMILY

You will also need to obtain a Blue Card, which is free. Once your application has been received, our Homestay Recruitment Officer will contact you to organise a time to inspect the student’s room and go through our program with you. Also during the inspection, our Recruitment Officer will need to see your original IDs in order to sign off on the Blue Card application form. Please have these ready and also have a photocopied version of your IDs as well.
